A main focus point for our controlled drug release work is developing technologies for sustained release of APIs from polymer surfaces by sCO₂ impregnation. Unique performance parameters for this technology are:

• Long-term sustained release of drugs and silver compounds.
• Impregnation processing facilitates drug loading at low temperatures and use of thermolabile biomolecules.
• Deep reservoirs possible = high drug loading.
• Extremely abrasion resistant ... NOT a coating, but a deep impregnation of the surface.
• Process technology facilitates homogenous and controlled API loading of inner lumens and complex shapes.

Based on our API and sCO₂ applications lab we are able to offer R&D work and small volume productions. The basic technology is well-known and large scale GMP facilities exist in case of large production volume.
