Hydrogel material competences
Our core hydrogel material competences include:
- Knowledge of virtually all water soluble polymer systems, chemistries and x-linking options (physical, chemical, radiation).
- Custom polymer synthesis to match desired combinations of material and processing combinations.
- Knowledge of all hydrogel property areas such as mechanical, physical and chemical properties, degradation mechanisms, swelling, biocompatibility, etc.
- Hydrogel formulation with APIs, pigments, and other additives.
- Characterization of intrinsic material properties: rheology, swelling, x-link density, permeability, mechanical properties, etc.
- Characterization of functional hydrogel properties such as biocompatibility, drug elution, abrasion, stability, etc.

Our hydrogel processing competence includes:
- Solutions preparation
- Hydrogel molding, extrusion and coating
- Crosslinking by heating, cooling, in-line x-link agent addition, UV, E-beam radiation
- Residuals extraction
