Stent designs and practice-in-use have changed drastically over a short period of time. Chempilots has contributed to this by developing unique surfaces for metallic stents for a leading medical device supplier. We are now developing new antiproliferative coatings for vascular and non-vascular applications.

Coatings and surface treatments
Our capabilities within the area of stent production include:

  • Development of electrochemical processing techniques for metallic stents
  • Formulation of anti-proliferative coatings, e.g. NO-loaded polymers
  • Prototyping of stent-coating principles, e.g. spraying or tampo-transfer
  • Synthetising structural polymer systems with bio-erodable (non-vascular applications) or controlled bio-resorbable (vascular application) properties
  • Polymeric stent technology research and production engineering
