Process expertise
Process represents the critical link between R&D and production. As such, it is a key in achieving integrated solutions. As always, the challenge is to ensure that product, process, equipment, and validation requirements come together to a robust, balanced solution.
The Chempilots approach and working philosophy is to address integration issues up front. This means:
- Products are designed with intended processing in mind (form, format, materials, unit operations, tolerances). Many times a large part of the product design is driven by a processing requirement for good reason.
- Products and processing are specifically designed for validation.
- Process technology is developed concurrently with product design by early prototyping using semi-automated unit operation workstations to test feasibility and find the best product-process trade-offs.

Over the years, Chempilots has assisted customers in the development of process technology for several soft contact lens production platforms, automated production of hydrogels for implantation, and hydrophilic coatings for guide wires and catheters. > Chemical engineering
Chempilots has a long track record in working with chemical engineering and process upscaling of polymerization processes, organic synthesis, and downstream processing.

Key properties of medical devices and drug delivery systems can be compromised if they are not designed to withstand appropriate sterilization methods. Chempilots offers formulation and development of polymeric systems that maintain their functional performance after sterilization cycles.
