Processing equipment

Chempilots has a wide range of off-the-shelf processing equipment and chemical unit operations available for new projects. We also have the skills and experience in-house to design custom processing equipment whenever needed, which we have done on many projects.

Synthesis and chemical engineering equipment

  • QVF glass reactors up to 50 L
    with stirrer
  • Pyrex glass 1L high-pressure reactor set-up
  • Steel reactors from 5L to 900 L
with cooling/heating jackets, stirrer, weight cell and inspection access
  • Various volumetric feed systems
  • QVF glass heat exchangers
  • Oil heaters in various
    sizes
  • Steel stripping and distillation units
  • Various filtration units
  • Wet and dry cyclones, centrifuges
  • Spray-drying and freeze-drying equipment
  • Vacuum ovens and ovens
  • Air-drying LAF bench

  • High-precision micro-dispenser for high-viscous solutions, and potting dispenser system
  • Ultrasonic degassing equipment
  • Washing equipment for hydrogel residual monomer extraction
  • Curing ovens by forced-convection heating, IR heating or by UV light
  • Spin-coating and air-spray coating equipment, draw-down film applicators
  • UV lamps (fusion, xenon, fiberoptics)
  • Safety-cabinets for processing in nitrogen atmosphere
  • Borescopes, pin and hardness gauges, and other inspection tools

Customized equipment
Chempilots has a long track record in developing chemical processes and innovative technologies for new medical devices and controlled drug release systems. As one of our key contributions, processing equipment can be specified for specific projects, and if such equipment is not readily available from our own stock, we often purchase used units from equipment brokers and modify it for the specific purpose.

Alternatively, our partner network includes mechanical engineering and engineering control capabilities that, together with our own chemical processing expertise, provides a unique platform for designing pilot scale and GMP production equipment.

Processing equipment customized for specific projects becomes the property of the specific customer. That said, proprietary equipment is occasionally rebuilt and repurposed.
