Unique IPN technology prevents bacterial resistance
Chempilots is part of a project for the Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation with the objective of developing a new antibacterial treatment of infections. The new technology can turn out crucial for hospitals worldwide in order to reduce the high level of infections and resistance to antibiotics among patients. The new antibacterial treatment applies nano technology to create an Interpenetrating Polymer Network (IPN) in the silicone that releases low doses of locally surface active and stable antimicrobial peptides (new AMP memetics) for longer periods. This innovative antibacterial surface treatment prevents biofilm formations and bacterial resistance effectively.
